Hunters & Gatherers since 2003, original casually since 2022, competative since 2025

OJH1997 and Carcassonne:

I was raised in a board gaming household and I started my Carc journey with Carcassonne: Hunters & Gatherers in about 2003. I wouldn't actually play the original Carcassonne until about 2022, having additionally played both Carcassonne: Over Hill & Dale and Carcassonne: South Seas before placing my first ever Knight, Monk, and/or Robber! Since then I've thoroughly enjoyed playing the original Carcassonne casually (though collecting boxes of it slightly less casually...) and I decided to enter the UK Championship in 2025 for a bit of fun, hoping to win maybe one game. To my suprise I placed 7th in the entire tournament! I also struck up some wonderful conversations with numerous team UK members who encouraged me to get onto BGA - which I then did straight away! And I've been on my competative Carcassonne journey since then, long may it continue!
